Travelling with children
If you plan to travel with your children, please make sure in advance that they have their valid travel documents.
Necessary documents for under-age children crossing the state border:
Children crossing the state border shall carry the following personal identification documents proving their identity and citizenship: a passport of the Republic of Lithuania or personal identification card (can be used for travelling to those foreign states which have concluded respective international treaties or agreements with the Republic of Lithuania).
A birth certificate of the child is not a personal identification document and is not valid for travelling abroad.
Important! The validity period of the children’s personal identification documents is shorter (2-5 years), so please be sure to pay attention to the expiry date on the child’s travel document. More information is provided by The State Border Guard Service.
